ABOUT ME

As of July 1, 2017, I assumed the position of superintendent of the Larimore Public Schools. Prior to coming to Larimore I was a science teacher at North Border last school year, the superintendent/principal at Lancaster, MN, from 2013 to 2016, the superintendent of Velva for 2012-13, the superintendent of Devils Lake from 2001 to 2012 and the high school principal at Devils Lake from 1987 to 2001. I live in Devils Lake with my wife, Susan. She retired in the spring of 2016 after teaching 7th grade English for 31 years at Devils Lake Middle School. I earned my Bachelor in Science from Mayville State University in 1979, a Masters Degree from Northern State University of Aberdeen, SD, in 1985, and my Doctorate (Ed.D.) from the University of North Dakota in 2009. I enjoy sports, drama and music events. I try to hunt and fish when I can find the time.

As a veteran school administrator, I have served as high school principal and superintendent at schools in North Dakota and Minnesota. I spent a year at Velva in a shared superintendent position, and served three years as superintendent at Lancaster, MN. Last year I was a science teacher at North Border. We have two sons. Connor, a graduate of Devils Lake High School is a mechanical engineer in Sioux Falls, SD. Our older son, Frank, resides in Grand Forks with a wife and child and is employed at the University of North Dakota. I am the first full-time superintendent the Larimore Public School has had in the past 15 years.
