To all,

It is with great pleasure that I welcome our students and parents to the 2025-26 school year.  I am certain our teachers, staff and administration are as excited to start the new school year as I am.  Larimore Public Schools have a time-honored tradition of providing high quality education in a safe and welcoming environment.  This past spring the school board adopted a new math curriculum for K-12.  Our teachers and administrators have been preparing to present this new curriculum to their students this year.  This math curriculum is highly recommended.  As you know we had two resignations from our music education staff this past spring and unfortunately, we received no applications.  Finding music teachers is a problem for the entire state.  However, we will be able to provide elementary music with a teacher in training and at the high school we have a retired teacher for the instrumental and we have a paraprofessional who is very experienced to provide the choral music instruction at the high school.  Currently, we do not have an instructor for 5th and 6th grade bands.  It is my hope that we can find a teacher who has finished their student teaching this fall and hire that person as a full time instrumental for 5-6 and choral for grades 7-12 for the second semester.

To close, we can be proud of what our students achieve in Larimore – in our classrooms, in our offices, and on our playing fields, courts, and stages. But our achievements are not due to complacency and satisfaction with the status quo. Our program is what it is because a staff of dedicated, aspiring men and women and our parents who all have a common goal – to do what is best for our students – and are always looking for ways to achieve this goal.

Wishing everyone a very enjoyable and productive 2025-26 school year.

Dr. Steve Swiontek, Superintendent
