Greetings All, Not much was accomplished today around the high school so we will continue with parking to the north and at the museum. We will also continue with safety patrols on the north side of the high school before school in the morning and immediately after school. Remember we have a home volleyball game this evening so parking may be an issue. Please look for pedestrians at all times around the high school. Be safe. Steve Swiontek, Supt.
Greetings, There are no changes in the road construction since last Friday at the high school. We will need to continue to park north of the high school or at the museum. Remember to be safe and on the lookout for moving vehicles or equipment. S. Swiontek
Greetings, For Thursday, Sept. 1: We will continue to drop off students in the morning and pick up students after school on the north side of the high school. Students and staff will need to continue to park north of the high school and at the museum. Safety first: Be careful, Be aware, Be safe. Steve Swiontek, Supt.
Greetings, There is very little change at the high school, therefore we will continue as we have done for the past two days tomorrow, Wednesday. Parking north of the high school or at the museum. Buses will again drop off and load on the north side. We will also continue with safety patrols. Be safe. S. Swiontek, Supt.
Greetings everyone, Very little changed at the high school regarding the street renovation today. We will not be able to use the east, south and west streets again tomorrow. Parking will have to take place north of the high school or at the museum. Reminding everyone to be safe and look all four ways before crossing. Steve Swiontek, Supt.
Good evening everyone, Construction update: Tomorrow at the high school the construction company will be working on the roads and the water lines on the east, south and west sides of the school. The student parking lot will NOT be accessible tomorrow nor will the streets on the east, south and west side of the high school. Students and staff will have to find parking north of the high school. The sidewalk on the north side of the high school will be available, but staff and students cannot park by the curb next to the high school as our buses will be dropping off students there in the morning and picking up students up after school. Please do not park along that sidewalk. At the elementary they will be continuing to back fill the new gym construction, but they stop their trucks when students are arriving to school and when students are leaving the school. The elementary will be close to normal. Again, it is important that we are extremely cautious and look out for one another. We will have personnel working as safety patrols at both buildings both before school begins and at dismissal. Sincerely, Steve Swiontek, Supt.
Construction Update: Tomorrow morning, Aug. 25, 2022 is our first day of school. In visiting with the street construction foreman, he has told me that the road south of the high school (Main) will be open tomorrow morning and the student parking lot will also be open. Students and staff are not to park on the north side of that street (Main). We will have a safety patrol on the intersection of Main and Booth tomorrow morning to help students and staff cross that street. Our buses at the high school will be letting students off on the north side (3rd street) of the school in the morning. That afternoon they will be pouring concrete on the sidewalk on the north side of the high school (3rd Street), so we will pick up bus students at the high school on the south side (Main) that afternoon. I have no information as of yet regarding the street on the west side of the high school (Booth). Therefore, it will be unusable at this time. At the elementary we will be as close to normal as possible for buses, students, and parents. I cannot emphasize enough that your children/our students will be very excited to return to school and they really need to be careful about crossing streets in town and look all four ways to make sure it is safe for them to walk across the street. Wishing everyone a great and safe start to the new school year. Steve Swiontek, Supt.
Greetings, The Larimore Elementary School and High School will be hosting an open house for parents and students this afternoon from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Because of the rain and construction at the high school we are recommending that parents park where they can north of the high school. We will have the north and west doors open at the high school. I will be sending an additional note out later today regarding parking and entry into the high school for tomorrow. Steve Swiontek, Supt.
Greetings, As you know we have a great deal of construction around the high school. Parking will be difficult for our students and staff. We have been in communication with the construction supervisor and the city and they assure us that they are doing the best they can. Our biggest concern is the safety of our students and staff because of the construction. There are parking lots in the area of the school, but students and staff will need to walk a little more to get to the high school. They also need look in all four directions to make sure that they are safe when crossing the roads to get to the school. A reminder, we will be holding a back-to-school late afternoon for parents and students this Wednesday at the high school and the elementary from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, but again parking at and around the high school will be difficult. We hope you can attend, but please be careful. Sincerely, Dr. Swiontek, Supt.
